Starbucks loyalty card changes

Had an email this morning that the Starbucks card stars are changing.
Currently you get one star per transaction and 15 stars gets a free drink.
New system is 3 stars per £ spent and 150 stars gets a free drink. For some this will be better as you get reward stars on the whole spend, rather than just one per transaction.
For me I think I will be worse off, I usually get filter coffee or an americano, this is usually about £1.50, so I will only get three stars, so it will take three times longer to get a free drink. The new system is a freebie with every £50 spent instead of after 15 visits, which currently could be as low as £15-22.50 spend.

hi) nice to meet you-3

My daily "tipple" is a Grande Latte, currently £2.70. I rarely buy anything other than this so, currently, I spend £40.50 to get a free coffee. Under the new scheme I would have to spend £50+.I have been loyal to Stabucks for years but this will not work for me.Today, I had an email from Pret. They have a new scheme where for £20PM (first month free) you can have any of their coffees, teas, hot chocolates, iced coffees, Cold Brew, frappes and blended smoothies, including any milk alternatives, syrups and extra shots up to 5 times per day per month! It's a no-brainer.

My app updated this morning to these new rewards. I now have zero stars as opposed to 14 before - apparently they take 2 weeks to update!
But more alarmingly my gift card which had a balance of over £10 has disappeared too. I’m not sure if the two above are linked and my gift card will get added automatically eventually (two weeks for access to my gift card wouldn’t be ideal).
Anyone else experience the same issue? You can add an existing gift card within the app but I don’t have any of the details to add it as it was an e card all linked to my account before. If you’re yet to upgrade the app, maybe nip in beforehand and see if you can screenshot the gift card number and PIN (not sure if it’s possible as too late for me now)0
