Does anyone have a Samsung or Siemens upright freezer with an ice maker?

Options
We're looking for a large upright freezer which has an ice dispenser. We have only found 2 models which have this feature, and was wondering whether anyone had any experience of how reliable the ice dispenser was on either of them?
The two models in question are:
  • Siemens GS36NAI3P
  • Samsung RR7000M RZ32M7120SA

We have a variant of the Samsung (same freezer but a now discontinued stainless steel exterior)

The ice maker itself was reasonably fine, it is fully manual so just a slightly more convenient way of filling an icecube tray and then emptying it into a container. It did drip a little if you were over zealous with the closing action and was a pain to deal with if you were an idiot and pulled the leaver to empty the tray when the container was tilted open. Despite it being manual it was still a nice feature to have.

The freezer itself however was terrible, and indeed we have just today settled a court claim against the retailer for it as the unit's auto defrost function broke and got stuck on defrosting everything in the freezer rather than just deicing the back as its supposed to. Broke after 11 months, repaired, broker again 1 month later and this time replaced the whole freezer, replacement broke again 10 months later. Again deemed uneconomical to repair so was offered partial refund or the freezer in a different finish.

We also have the matching fridge, which has been faultless, and the connecting bracket that joins the two together making them appear like an oversized american style fridge freezer.

    We've got a Samsung RS68N8220S9 bought in June 2019.
The ice maker stopped working early 2020, but was repaired without any quibble under the Samsung warranty.
The solution was a replaced PCB.

The he item you link to is out of stock.
My Samsung ice maker is plumbed-in and accessed from outside the door.
The one you link to is inside the door?
Do you have to fill a container with water, or is it plumbed-in.
It is very difficult to know what you are buying. Even the Samsung site does not recognise the model number.
It has all changed since  I bought mine, so my experience is out-of date.

You have to top it up manually with water - not possible to plumb it in. I've been unable to find a freezer with a plumbed-in ice maker :0(
