Mobile phone contract due to covid-19

My partner has a contract with EE. Due to a change in his circumstances, he’s unable to pay the fee of £87 a month. He has been in a EE store and also phoned customer services and they say they are unable to help me. They have been told circumstances have changed due to covid-19 and are unable to pay. I don’t want to cancel a contract, I just want them to help lowering my payment in some way. He has had the contract a year and is down for early upgrade now and are still refusing to help. I have to continue paying and if he misses payments they will set up a payment plan to help pay what he owes. All he wants is for his payments to be reduced. Once he pays for his car and house he hasn’t got that kind of money for a phone... or to set up silly payment plans if he gets in debt.

Cancel the contract will just lead to debt recovery .You could try escalating it as a complaint .0
