We booked a special river cruise for our Ruby wedding with Viking cruises via Planet Cruise (Iglu Cruise) due to sail on 16th June. After this was cancelled we waited the 9 weeks we where advised it would take to receive a refund. Then we found that we where not on a priority list and they could not tell us who had the money when we would receive a refund. Further investigation revealed that the refund was issued to them by Viking on 30th June but they could still not tell us when a refund would be forthcoming! They have now been sitting on £6000.00 of our money for over 2 months, will not let us speak to a manager or say even if they will repay it this year - only that they are short staffed and we are in a que! I am seriously considering going to the small claims court.

That was an extremely quick turn around for a refund.  Are you sure it was made then.
  • Depending on what method you paid via look at a chargeback or s.75 claim.

With a different company, getting all of the money back took me 3 months and the mention of a Chargeback,  despite the package holiday regulations referencing 2 weeks.
There are queues and delays - my line in the sand was the Chargeback time limit which I think is 120 days.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • After getting nowhere with Planet Cruise we spoke with Viking who told us that it was refunded to Planet Cruise on 30th June.
  • It appears that you cannot do as.75 claim because we paid Planet cruise who are a third party. Have started charge back but told by Barclays that it could take a further 12 weeks!

Someone needs to put a rocket up Barclays backside - 12 weeks is ridiculous.
Capital One took a week with my chargebacks.
