PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Landlord Harassment - Advice needed please

A legal option to see if you'd abandonned the property would have been a letter to you, at the property, advising you of 24 hours notice for a visit. If you didnot respond, she could then enter.Of course that solves little.Even if the property appeared empty, she cannot assume you've abandoned The tenancy still would not have ended. And if she were to re-occupy, or re-let, the property, that would amount to an illegal eviction. That may partly explain why, knowing (somehow) you were at MIL's, she came round to speak.Again, does not excuse her behaviour, but we've only heard one side, and there are always 2 sides to a problem.edit: sorry - I'm commenting from an English perspective, but I suspect in this Scotland is not much different.0
