Disputing damage to holiday property

Hi all, some further updates. They have now sent me a copy of the newly ordered hot tub. They've still not sent any proof of irreversible damage to the hot tub that showed it needed replaced. Only some minor mark and stain photos (that could def be cleaned up) which does not prove this was caused by us. I personally think they just want a new/additional hot tub. I have received all money back from back that I have requested and have sent all evidence to the bank. The lodge is in a remote part of the country, it would be a 9 hour round trip for me so I am in two minds whether to drive there or not as I have evidence that the hot tub is still there. A friend was driving to her holiday home last night and passed the lodge, hot tub is still there. The lid is on and from the shape of it looks quite sturdy, as if filled back up and in use. They told me they are fully booked until end of October so why would you have a hot tub that was 'fit for the bin' as stated by them, sitting outside your holiday lodge with new people checking in? Is it because in fact it isn't broken or damaged I wonder...! I have another friend who is passing the lodge over the weekend and will be stopping to take more pictures for me and I will continue to check Instagram for location tags as a lot of people have tagged themselves in the lodge over the summer.0

Also to mention, I am using the legal advice that I have as part of my home insurance. They are calling me today.0

It has the effect of concentrating minds wonderfully as the bank will try and fob you off
As Op has already said the chargeback process has been started. Other than that there is nothing the bank can do. (They are not there to police retailers)
If the retailer rejects the chargeback, then there is nothing further they can do. Even FOS will agree with that. As a chargeback is over & above your legal rights.Life in the slow lane0
