I used to take about three holidays a year and in October I took redundancy/early retirement thinking I'd be taking more... but now I don't think I'll be going on holiday for a very long time so decided to buy a new car instead.
  • We're fortunate enough to be retired so quarantining on return isn't an issue for us. We've got a private booking to head away in the winter but issue will be whether flights are operating or not. For next year we're planning on bike and trains around Europe. Maybe it's an age thing but we feel we need to get on and enjoy life (hoping for another 30 or so years!) whilst being safe and respectful to others.
  • I voted yes! Holiday in three weeks time. No quarantine needed when we get back at the moment, but who knows what can happen in a few weeks!
Also have a holiday booked for next February.
  • If I can I will. I'm getting kind of bored and am spending a lot of time on the Lonely Planet website, but I think like everyone else I'm reluctant to pay in full for anything at the moment.

Vaccine seems some way off yet. Making plans seems somewhat pointless when the ability to travel to a particular destination can be changed at a matter of a few hours notice. Not as if there's open borders anyway. Only Europe seems desperate to keep tourism going to sustain the economy. Yet increasingly appears to be paying the price.
    What price?

Cases are up, but hospitalisations are not following the same trend, nor are deaths.

The people that were going to die of this have, generally speaking, already snuffed it.

Sadly we'll see people dying of the flu and all the rest of the winter illnesses being labelled as "COVID  related" because the world has clearly gone mad. And as a result, the people who have been whipped up into a frenzy by the media will exclaim "told you so!"
The number of people who have first hand experience of previous pandemics has amazed me.  You must have aged extremely well !
  • Nope - sorry - I can't see any good reason at all to travel overseas for the next 12 months at least.

Unfortunately, you are right, I agree with you
