non payment of fred olsen cruise refund

Cruise cancelled on 29/4. same day request for repayment. (Barrhead Travel). no contact achieved for 8 weeks. Then told FOC would pay. Form filed in on 28/6. Advised up to 8 weeks delay. One day before 8 weeks were up,advised it would now take up to 12 weeks.. That is 4 months and a week. Something is wrong with the industry if FOC can treat customers like this.  Are they going bust???

Everybody has a backlog. Furlough, working from home etc has caused inevitable delays. Thousands of people are impacted.

Virgin Atlantic estimate 120 days for refunds, this is the new reality. However I would advise calling Fred Olsen themselves and check, a few agents have been collecting refunds and not passing them on, particularly it seems for high-value cruises. I hasten to add I have no knowledge of Barrhead Travel
