This could be a very obvious question but im not sure?? My husband is self employed and has numberous trade accounts under his business name, a couple of which he occasionally has a 'reminder' about payment which he then pays. Would these show on his credit rating?

Credit accounts in his business name won't appear on his consumer credit files.0

Sorry to sound thick but can I just clarify... we are currently applying for a mortgage, its difficult enough at mo with covid and self employed. Is it likely these late payments would show up or cause a problem?0

Not if they are not in his own name and therefore don't appear on his credit files.0

You need to know if the accounts are in his own name and if Jewson report credit accounts to the CRAs. Have you checked all 3 credit reports for both of you, something you need to start doing regularly well in advance of applying for a mortgage.

If he's trading as Plumbing and Tiling Limited then no it won't show on his personal report because when you trade as a limited company that company is a separate legal entity. If he's operating as a sole trader trading as Peter Piper Plumbing without the Ltd then yes it can show on his credit file as he is the business.0
