Booked last Feb to travel Sept 30th but Guernsey's quarantine rules prevent us going on a four day break
Aurigny (owned by the same Guernsey Govt who's rules prevent our holiday) refuse a refund, saying the flight will be going so it's not applicable.
Card company doesn't want to know because the services are being provided.
As far as I'm aware it is not possible to pursue a Guernsey firm through our small claims court.
Oh and despite taking out a "comprehensive" travel insurance policy no-one had thought of covid in Feb so that won't be covered either
Running out of ideas. Any experiences?

All airlines have the same policy on this, have you not seen all the moaning Ryanair threads on basically the same subject?0

Why would you use small claims even if you could?
The flight is still there for you to get on, so you’d lose. Unless you mean a claim against the Gov, but I’m not sure how far that’d go...
You bought a flight, you can get the flight. The quarantine rules are completely unrelated0 -
Guernsey government are saying you cannot leave the island for 14 days after arriving: https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel
Logically that should mean if you have bought a return flight, returning within 14 days of departure, the state owned airline should be willing to offer the chance to rebook given the state are preventing people from taking their booked return flights.0 -
If you booked before covid was a thing, then your travel insurance may cover you. It is only bookings where you knew about covid when you booked, that the travel insurance is less likely to cover you. I would start by contacting your travel insurers.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. your insurance would ned to cover you for local government restrictions as there is no FCO advice against travelling and flights are operating.0
