Is it more expensive to let the car insurance lapse and get new insurance 1 month later?

    Not worried the car won't start, the brakes are locked, the petrol has gone off, the battery is flat, etc etc after all this time?
    Trying to save a few quid could costs hundreds trying to repair the car...

    most insurances auto renew. So you would have to call the insurance company to cancel the policy.

    Well, for this there is breakdown cover.

    Breakdown cover won't replace batteries, tyres, alternators, busted seals....
