My daughters prom has been cancelled due to Covid .I’ve paid a deposit of £270 with a remainder of £270 to pay. Am I entitled to a refund of the deposit ?
Many thanks in advance.

What does your contract or agreement with the shop say? When you paid did they say it would be refundable or not?0
-
Or will they require the balance to be paid?0

As others say it all depends what the agreement was. If they have a website have a look for their Ts and Cs.

Are the dress company still able to provide the dress to the date originally required?
It is not the dress company's fault the Prom is not happening so there is no reason for the dress company to concede anything. They may do so, but that will likely be their generosity and nothing more. The best way to get a good outcome is to be very nice to the dress company.1 -
You’re relying on goodwill, they don’t need to do anything as they didn’t cancel the prom.Read your contract - best case scenario is that they refund you (as goodwill, they don’t have to) and worst case is that you’re liable for the full cost of the dress.1
