Gas not working - suggestions?
Hi
I know this is not about saving money etc, but I didn't know where else to post it.
Basically, I have moved in a house with gas and electricity card meters. I have new cards for both but I am having problems getting the gas to work.
The card works, there is money on the card (that is not in the meter), and the meter seems to be working okay. The gas handle is turned on but there is no gas coming through the stove or the boiler.
Has anyone experienced this problem and what did you do?
Thanks

The meter is designed not to restore the supply if any gas appliances have been left on: if a gas ring on a hob was in use it won't reignite and could cause an explosion. Turn all the gas appliances off, turn the meter off and then turn it on again a few minutes later.1

I'm not at the house at the moment, but I think it was just displaying the amount of credit it had.

I think you have to press and hold a button to reconnect the supply. Google for a manual for your specific meter model.0
