Buyer Paying with PayPal eCheque?

I recently sold a But It Now item, and the buyer has paid with a PayPal eCheque, I haven't seen one of these before and apparently it takes 5-7 working days to clear!
Now this item has been hanging around for a while, so I don't want to cancel it but am annoyed that I have to wait so long when I expect immediate payment. Obviously I won't post till Funds are cleared.
Are these safe (other than the wait) and is there anyway of stopping buyers using them in the future?
Its only £15 and as I say, I'm happy to shift the item but its still frustrating!
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

Unfortunately you can’t block echeques just have to be patient and wait for it to clear.

This used to be Really common , random PayPal payments defaulting to an echeque for no good reason, but I haven’t seen much mention of it recently. I went through a period a couple of years back where every single payment I made to eBay for their fees went as an echeque, despite funds being available in my account, no idea why.

Thanks, just wanted to check that all was well.
Have messaged the buy and said that as you paid by echeque I won't post until it clears. Will message again once it does. Just don't want to be hit by them saying it hasn't arrived when I can't post it.

Exactly how I used to handle this with echeques, just keep the buyer informed.
