Today I’m due to hand my keys back to landlord of the property I’ve been in for 5 years. She has been very harassing towards me since I told her we were moving out and constantly on my back. I would love too be able too post the keys through her personal door instead of arranging too meet but unsure if it is legal to do so ?
Any advice would be appreciated
thanks

Send them to her by special delivery, that's what I did when I didn't want a face to face. If you just drop them through the letterbox (quite legal btw) she could claim she never received them and potentially make a deduction from your deposit to replace the keys and/or access the property with a locksmith maybe...0

Either* hand them to her* post 'signed for', but make sure they arrive on /before the last dy of the tenancy or you'll be over-staying* put through letter box with a witness present0

Hand them back however you mutually agree is acceptable...
You could leave them with a mutually trusted third party - is there a neighbour or local shopkeeper?
If they have a key, then you could even lock up and just post them through the letterbox of the property.
(I've done that before. Then remembered I'd left something inside...)1 -
Take a photo of her front door, another as you post them throught the letter box.
If you have a witness all the better.
Make sure you clean the property to the same standard it was when you moved in.
After 5 years the LL should expect to need to repaint and replace old worn out carpets and redecorate so if they try to deduct monies from the deposit despute it with the DPS people.
Take lots of photos of the condition of the property before you leave.
Good luck1
