Due to my Hypothyroidism I tend to nod off a lot. It's quite amusing sometimes, one minute I'm reading on my kindle, next minute I'm jolting awake because I've dropped it on myself. I've also fallen asleep holding cups, my phone, my knitting, a potato :D and one other thing that can't be explained on here 😂 I'm not too bad when watching telly if it's fast paced and actiony. But I'm about to watch the antiques road show so I'll probably be out like a light in a minute haha.

How often do you find yourself nodding off?

I have hypothyroidism too and certainly  seem to need more sleep  than DH. I'll  often nod off if I sit down in the afternoon.  Do you find you feel the cold more than other people? It's  also a struggle  to keep my weight  down.

The cold really gets me in the winter. As for my weight, I do struggle a bit. I'm not overweight, but I could do with losing a few pounds 😊 how much sleep do you get at night?

Yeh same for me, I usually go to bed about 11pm and wake up at 7am. On more than one occasion I've actually slept a whole night in my chair.

I was cold earlier this afternoon and ended up putting a vest on (I was already wearing a jumper!). When I warmed up I went out like a light. I don't know if I have low thyroid or not - in January I was told it was a bit out of kilter and that I should have another blood test in June, but of course that never happened!

I have the most irregular sleeping habits - could sleep all day and wide awake int he middle of the day. I often sleep in my chair too!! I feel the cold too (after a few years of menopause) its lovely Id rather be cold than hot. I don't think I have a thyroid problem but do take many meds for other conditions so think that affects my ability to sleep or not!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Ring your surgery and ask  for a blood test - don't wait for them to contact you.

I’m hypothyroid as well.  I don’t doze off easily during the day but, when we get to around 9.30pm, tiredness hits me like a sledgehammer and I can’t stop yawning.  (We joke that I’m clockwork and my spring has unwound.)

Have you had your blood tested lately?  Just because your thyroxin levels have been stable for years, doesn’t mean that they will remain so.  All sorts of things can affect it, including the menopause.

I mostly do it after a big meal.  I cooked/ate a whole 10" pizza the other day, I know half is a portion and I'll usually sneakily scoff 2/3rds... but that day I ate the whole thing... and nodded off.
