Amex Shop Small credit not showing

I've used my BA Amex at a range of local shops recently, all advertised as being included in the shop small offer.
So far, I have received £5 credit for the first transaction over £10 at one or two of these venues but I've not received it at most places
Should I be concerned? If so, how best to resolve this?

It can take a few days. Amex themselves explain this in the emails & letter leaflets they've posted out.

Quoted - The statement credit should appear on your Card Account statement within 5 days from the date you made a qualifying purchase but may take up to 90 days from the Offer End Date. Please refer to the general Offer Terms for information about when statement credits can be lost.

In my experience, it can take a few days for the £5 credit to reach you. If you don't receive it after a week, give Amex a call.

Also bear in mind, you can only receive it once per shop. So if you've already got £5 credit from purchasing from a shop, you cannot receive it from that same shop again.

Have you 'opted in' to the scheme? You need to click few a links in the app or website to opt into it. I didn't know about it until they emailed me that I'd spent in a shop in the scheme and they asked me to opt in.

This, you have to opt in for this offer on the membership section of the app. I got a notification the same day of the payment made and credited within a few days, very impressed.
  • 3x £5 credits so far, all within a few working days of the transaction 👍

If the shop advertised " Shop small " on the door / window and you haven't got it after say a week, speak to Amex.  No need to be concerned, if you spent it according to promotional rules , you will get it. You can get credit of £ 5 ONCE per each shop and  £ 50 in total ), so going to the same deli shop 6 x  ( or anywhere else participating in the scheme ) will only get you £ 5 . Amex is very good and quite fast at this and as said earlier I have opted in AFTER I paid £ 12 in small local shop, yet 2 days later there was a nice green fiver on my statement ( and I never asked for that as I knew I was late and did not expect that transaction to be eligible as Amex know exact time and date of transaction and can see that I opted in some 6 hrs later ) .
