Could you try asking on social media sites specific to Crewe? You are more likely to find 'locals' that way rather than a national site. It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.2 -
Agree with the Crewe social sites, there are several on Facebook. Or , if you or partner work, does the company have another in or nearby?Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.1

There really OUGHT to be a Railway Hotel in Crewe, although I'm afraid Google denies this. Thanks to you, I now have "Oh Mr Porter, What shall I do?" running through my head.danandjens_worldtravels said:We also don’t know Crewe at all, If anybody has any ideas of somewhere to eat at 10am (not a pub) in or near Crewe please forward the idea, that could make us asking a certain friend easier as we’d have a plan for afterwards, rather than sending them home with a social distanced wave!Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
I used to work in a council department that shared a building with a register office. We got asked all the time - at least a couple of times a week. The registrars will be asked about witnesses all the time and will undoubtedly have somewhere they point people to. If you have have strangers at witnesses, it's nice to buy them a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates as a thank you. But don't be embarassed about it - it's really quite a normal situation and the ceremony will be exactly the same.0

It's likely this has changed since Covid.barbarawright said:I used to work in a council department that shared a building with a register office. For a nice meal afterwards I wouldn’t stay in Crewe - head to Nantwich instead (the next town along, a really pretty old market town) and try one of the many cafes - I would recommend Ginger & Pickles or The Hive as a good starting point!1
