Companies using my address for their energy bills
Back in June I received a welcome letter from British Gas at my residential address but for a company. I don't have anything to do with this company and the bill was for different premises. I contact British Gas on their online chat and after checking with land registry they said they would ensure my address was removed from this companies account. Then I received another letter to the same company about a week later. I contact British Gas again by online chat and they assured me my address had been removed from this companies details and i should receive no further correspondence.
Last week I received another letter but for a different company and again contacted online chat who assured me they would remove my address. However, today I received a bill to this company for just under £2k. I searched Companies House and this Limited company is registered in Bradford. I am in Halifax nearby.
Is this some sort of fraud and how do I ensure that my address is not used again? I am applying for a new mortgage next year and do not want any black marks against my address which may jeopardise my mortgage application.

You can never ensure that your address is not used again. Just return the mail marked not at this address and after a few returned letters the companies doing the sending will stop.0

Is there any similarity to your address? Eg same street number and similar postcode that might go wrong in one of those online address finders? I had that happen to me, a neighbour got their postcode wrong by one letter and I got all their post. Sorted by pointing the error out to the neighbour, not to the senders of the post.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Hi, no the addresses are totally different. I thought that myself so looked to see if i could see any similarity. They are two different companies but both catering ones. One was not a Limited company and one was, one in Halifax and one in Bradford. They also had peoples names on them but they were different too.0
