Just been reading about this as need new dg or tr g windows installing
Had ordered but then put on hold when grant was announced
Can anyone clarify how it works
e.g cost of solid wall installation £4000 then i would get grant of £4000 towards new windows
Would i have to pay the £4000 for wall insulation myself to enable grant for windows
or would i get grant for both.
I have read the info a couple of times but don't quite understand it
Just that i dont know whether its worth waiting to apply or carry on with the original order
Thanks for looking

I couldn't agree more. I have read free times but still not any wiser.
I'm in similar position. I need to replace 6 windows aprox. 30 years old. 2 single and 4 double glazed and all so draughty. From what I'm making is you can only get grant to replace single glazed but not old/draughty double glazed.
Also these double glazed looks like additional improvement and not in main category. I have sold walls so not sure if needs to apply for insulation for that as well? If that's the case then we'll not get much done in £5k?
Hopefully someone will make understand all these acronyms!

Its all so confusing
I am sure they initially said that applications could be made end of August and vouchers issued end of September
Now their website states applications to be made end of September.
They keep coming up with new criteria. And it seems they are going to be make it really hard for people to receive this grant .
my windows are very old and draughty although glass is double glazed, looks like single. They are wooden and the wood is so rotten that the windows seem like they are going to fall out.
Old Victorian property with very large windows mammoth cost to replace.
Was really happy when grant announced.
But having doubts now as to whether we will receive it
I wonder what their next criteria is going to be
Rishi seemed to be so sincere honest and considerate when announcing it
However at the back of my mind it did seem too good to be true

Government webpage with the details is here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-the-green-homes-grant-scheme
It does seem very complicated, almost designed to prevent the average householder from getting much from it. Funding for double or triple glazing only if replacing single glazing and only if having other measures like insulation or low carbon heating like heat pumps, or solar thermal heating.

I was hoping that I'd be able to apply for the scheme to get a replacement/solid roof for our conservatory which is really leaky and draughty. It's open plan into our kitchen - do you think this will be eligible under the scheme? It mentions roof insulation but this seems to be a grey area too!0
