Sorry to hear that work is rubbish Jess - so disappointing when you had high hopes.

How was Chelsea? It’s on my bucket list, but tickets are so expensive! I hope it wasn’t a risk wash out when you were there.
Chelsea was really good. Kind of weird to stare at a garden thinking it makes you really calm, but having to wait for ages to see it and be standing with loads of other people in a crowd. Slightly odd experience. It was actually a pleasantly hot day when I went and really enjoyable. Of course I loved all the wild flower type gardens (the ones I planted at home are now taller than my children!). I want to go again…

Just on the train. Had a really weird day all in all. The firm suddenly woke up and invited me to meet to discuss about the longer term plans. It turned out to be a one on one all day jolly where I could air all my concerns and basically doing whatever they could to stop me leaving even though neither of us mentioned I was thinking of it. Head hurts now. Nice to be wanted though I guess!

Well it’s just overwhelm city over here at the moment. Had a day off work and made a decision not to power through my whole to do list and run around like a maniac. I halved the list and did those things instead, so I could feel like I did have a break.

Food shopping done. £170 😱, but in my defence I haven’t been shopping for almost 4 weeks now and am not expecting to need to go next week. No baking, but I did make a lovely pasta with fresh pesto, courgettes, spinach and purple asparagus for lunch. Easy pizza for dinner later with hm madelines for dessert.

Managed to plant out some of my free pepper plants, then sowed seeds for courgette, rainbow chard and edible marigolds.

Currently waiting on work to see if they do as they say. I’m unconvinced, but they do appear to be trying hard at the moment and I should give them a chance. Everything is pending really!

Hope work got sorted is it because the rolle is really full time and you are trying to fit it all into part time? Could they recruit some support for you or are you better off doing things yourself? Seems a shame if you have to look for another job so soon I hope things gets better.

Spending money on food shopping for easy dinners makes sense when you are are busy saves times and I am glad you took some time out for yourself rather than do all the chores. You deserve a break.

No... I wish it was just that as I could sort it.  I have a big list, but one of the problems is that the quality of work is shocking and there's no control/review/supervision.  I keep finding errors all over the place in every single thing I pick up and then have to fight everyone to get anything fixed.  I cannot do all the work myself and do not wish to. Not do I want to fight with everyone internally.
I did have a bit of fun earlier by messaging the big boss as I thought he should know one tiny piece of reality and probably dropped someone in it.  Will be ringing him on Monday to list out all the reasons I will be leaving.  No plan B... might take a bit of time off and then start looking for another job.  Just winging it right now :D
Trying to catch up on a million home things as I have a list as long as my arm that I'm behind on.  I'm slowly chipping away at it.  Fed the kids beans on toast (or "beans toast" in our house as that's what DS always used to say as a toddler) and we will have our dinner slightly later.  Planning on a tofu stir fry with sesame seeds, soy sauce, noodles and as many different bits of veg as I can find in the fridge.  Dessert is more hm madelines or alternatively we have a ton of fruit.  Must bake something tomorrow...

Been trying to catch up on life admin and things I've not been doing because of work today.  Spent hours playing with DD and doing fun sticker crafts this morning.  Also did 2 loads of washing and hung them out, tidied up, made 4 batches of banana drop scones (takes an age when you only have one pan), a batch of vanilla ice cream and an apricot and raspberry clafoutis.  Guess what's for dessert :D Also planted out the rest of the pepper plants I was gifted, an unhappy basil plant from the supermarket that was yellow stickered (hence not happy), some pea and sweet pea seeds, some sunflower and cornflower seeds and picked some strawberries and redcurrants.  Also planted some micro greens on the window sill.  Off out with the kids tomorrow to a local fair, so got all the stuff done today.
DH took the kids to the park, so now I've finally finished, I am sitting down with a glass of organic red wine I've not tried before.  It's very nice and full of flavour.  Dinner will be spag bol followed by the calfoutis and hm ice cream.  Hoping for a nice quiet evening trying hard not to think about the conversation I need to have with work on Monday.
Must get on top of the budget again soon as the joint account looks slightly sad and the holiday accommodation is about to be taken out next week.  I also just paid the nursery bill and DS's holiday club days for the summer.  Ouch...

Thanks @Jessy103 .  Well I tried really hard to quit first thing this morning, but the big boss was so concerned with the issues I was raising and seemed to want to do something about it, that it was basically impossible to leave.  However, I did say I was thinking about leaving.  I guess I need to leave a polite amount of time now before I can actually leave to give him a chance to rectify.  I'm too nice clearly...
Trying to keep myself sane by any means in the meantime and retreating back to only do the pieces of work I have control over and can do well and ignoring everything else.
Took a nice long lunch and made a sweet potato and chickpea curry (I had too many sweet potatoes that needed using up).  May make a big tomato pasta and garlic bread for dinner tonight and then I have loads of extra meals ready to go for the rest of the week.  Dessert of course is more of the clafoutis with hm ice cream.

Well it's all full circle at work and have a meeting booked with the boss first thing Thursday morning to try and quit work again.  Thinking of taking a bit of time off and then my old firm are interested in contracting me back direct to do some work for them, so I may do that and just do consulting solo.  Will see what happens.
No much else happening as still recovering from food poisoning from a horrible sandwich I was forced to have out (or starve, although obviously I wish I'd gone hungry).  Did just pick an overflowing cereal bowl's worth of redcurrants from the garden and then filled half of another with a massive pile of raspberries. So many more redcurrants to pick though.... I guess that's going to be my evening's entertainment for the next week!  I just wish they didn't all ripen within a day or two of each other as I have to pick them all at the same time.

I am the most useless person of all time.  It's really easy to leave; you just hand in your notice.  Somehow I keep failing to do that.  On the plus side, as I'm not invested, I'm not stressed at all about work so I guess I'm just picking up the cash in the meantime. Now they've basically said yes I'm right about absolutely everything - yep, so just caught up with me then!  My concern is that they want me to fix everything.  Definitely not paid enough to do that I think...
Not much else happening in the meantime as I'm still not 100% after this food poisoning.  Not up to date with the budget and just stashing cash since I am thinking about leaving.  Also had a few required spends recently - a few tops, PJ's and shorts for DD as she's changing size.  Also needed shorts and a top for DS's school play.  All bought second hand of course, so spend isn't too bad.  The most I spent was last night when I realised DS's swimming googles were too small and he picked some out at the swimming pool... £19!!!!!! I buy everything second hand and so anything new seems to be outrageous to me.  These ones should last until age 14, but still.. £19!
Dinner tonight will be tofu stir fry - one of those where I open the fridge and throw all the veg I can find in there at it.  If I'm lucky I'll find some nice fruit for dessert with yogurt, but currently DD is eating the strawberries faster than I can buy or pick them, so I've not had any at all.

Ok, who’s switched my kids when I wasn’t looking? I made omelettes for lunch and first prepped a side salad (leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrots and radishes). The kids saw me making it and insisted they wanted to eat it all as well (usually they would just eat carrot and sometimes cucumber). They not only tried the different leaves, but ate all of it, all the cucumber, tomato and carrots and the omelette. Then they had Greek yogurt with an apple each. If only every meal was that successful!

They are also fighting over who gets to help make the lemon and poppy seed cake later. If they eat that it’ll be a miracle as neither of them seem to like citrus flavours.
