Where does a promotional rate show on your credit report?

Hi all. Long time lurker, occasional commenter and first time poster!

I've read on here a few times that when you have a promotional rate on a card (0% APR) it flags this under the account on your credit report. I've looked at all three of my reports and can't see the 0% rate reflected anywhere. Is this normal?
I don't plan on taking out extra credit soon, I have a DD set for a fixed amount each month and have more than enough savings to pay the card off at any point. I do wonder though if carrying a balance each month is making my report look less desirable and whether I should just pay off the balance now?

  • The detail of promotional rates etc will show underneath the account in question on your file. So find the credit card in question and there will be a row or block of numbers detailing the repayment history and there should also be extra rows of data. One of these will be ‘Promotional Rate’ with a Y or N to indicate Yes/No.

Credit Karma / Transunion show Promo Yes / No in each account under payment information, same in the app.
MSE / Experian show promotional rate Y/N in the monthly boxes under "more detail" on each account
Clearscore / Equifax is pretty dumbed down and doesn't show it.

I concur that Clearscore doesn't show any promotional rate indicator, but Equifax does have a Promotional Rate box indicating yes, no or sometimes blank.
  • My Barclaycard balance transfer card on Noddle/Credit Karma says

    Repayment frequency - Monthly

    Promotional rate - Yes

On ClearScore - no reference beyond it being a CC

On MSE Credit Club/Experian - flagged as a promotional rate
  • on my experian report my 0%card is showing its not a promotion, other cra saying it is, which it is
  • Hmmm I'll take another look, perhaps on a laptop. I was struggling to even find the monthly breakdown of balances/payments, which is unusual. Thanks all for your responses!

Update: Doesn't show on ClearScore at all, as mentioned above. Promo rate showing as 'No' on Credit Karma and '-' on MSE.

Is it worth me clearing the balance as it may look like I am carrying a large interest-bearing balance every month? Or should I just sit tight and enjoy the 0% rate?
