Good afternoon I recently received my PPI and read about tax back on it? I read the form to fill in and don’t quite understand the section on interest on savings. I have always been PAYE and have zero savings “thank you children” Can you help please .
Kind regards
Glen

Tax isn't deducted from PPI refunds and PPI refunds aren't themselves taxable.
Tax is deducted from the statutory interest/compensation paid alongside the PPI refund and this is taxable.
You need to enter the gross interest, tax (should be 20% of the gross interest), and net interest (gross interest less tax).
And any other taxable income received in the same tax year i.e. employments, pensions.0
