Airbnb Valid Extenuating Circumstances

We are booked in a New York apartment on the 20th September booked through Airbnb.
I have been looking at Airbnb's extenuating circumstances and believe that the FCO advice is not a valid enough reason to receive a full refund.
Does anyone know if the presidential proclamation that stops UK residents entering the US is a valid extenuating circumstance?
Any advice would be much appreciated

For those in the same situation i have just had confirmation from airbnb that the presidential proclamation is a good enough reason to be entitled to a full refund.0

Not quite. There are more robust rules in place e.g. people can't buy property with the sole intention of leasing it to holidaymakers and other rules about owners being present etc. It is up to the owners to keep within the new laws. Having said that if holidaymakers are renting illegally (outwith the new rules) they can be turfed out by police I believe.Ganga said:I thought Airbnb was illegal in NewYork
Anyhow, happy ending for mrlinderley - if you book air bnb in New York again just check it is within the laws to be on safe side.0
