Travelling Usa Which Credit Card??

In the summer i am going travelling around america for 6 weeks and need to take a credit card for purchases only...such as hostel payments and trips.

I am hoping somebody could recommend the best value card i could take...??

You should watch out as some hostels will only take cash (and maybe TCs), apart from that get hold of a Nationwide credit card, as suggested by the threads Grumbler has pointed in your direction.
