Best rubber broom?

I'm looking to buy a rubber broom that will be gentle on my wooden floors but pick up hairs, dust etc. Its been on the list for a while but what has put me off so far are reports of the handles breaking, particularly at the joins, and to a lesser extent broom heads snapping off. Their ability to pick up fine debris seems to be universally praised though, so am guessing a solution might be one with a handle without joins / moulded into the broom head, or a brush that would be compatible with any old broom handle.

I always struggled with the handle as they all appear to be pretty lightweight. I purchased two rubber bristle brooms previously but after each on lasting about a month reverted to something more traditional. A soft bristle sweeper for my carpets and indoors, and a very stiff one for my garden patio - these have lasted me over a year (and still going strong).Rosa_Damascena said:I'm looking to buy a rubber broom that will be gentle on my wooden floors but pick up hairs, dust etc. Its been on the list for a while but what has put me off so far are reports of the handles breaking, particularly at the joins, and to a lesser extent broom heads snapping off. We just use vacuum cleaner with the correct head for hardwood floors and does the job fine.Rosa_Damascena said:

Cheap brooms with plastic connections between broom head and handle are never going to last and are a false economy.0 -
The original post was quite some time ago. Have since found silicone-bristled brooms to work a treat. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
