Morning all,
I won't report on the weather, it's boring. Sorry to all those eagerly waiting for a Weather on the Island report.
Today I must tackle the large bowl of fallers that have been donated. Some will be stewed for the freezer and some will be made into Apple and mint jelly, delicious with any sort of meat. And any time in between will be devoted to sorting out another box. There must be an end to all these boxes. Please!
Hope you all have a good day. Keep the Spa dusted Nelski. You never know.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
So far you have already survived 100% of your worst days.I believe that friends are quiet angels

A shout for another recipe - the apple and mint jelly sounds lovely MONNA can you post the said recipe please?
I have only heard of one restaurant in our vicinity that is continuing the Mon to Wed discount. It's not one of the chains though, it's a locally owned one. I am keeping my ears flapping in the hope of hearing of more.
The Gov are being sneaky this week and the latest lockdown announcement will be today rather than the usual Friday one. I am not expecting good news. In fact I think the net could be widening as I read the Leeds area now has an increased number of new cases. Oh well que sera sera. After five and half months I am almost getting used to this way of life.
Take care all x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all, it's soggy here againHardly slept at all last night so I feel very non-human this morning, but nothing needs doing. DD and the DGC are coming this afternoon and DD is bringing up her new crafting machine, so she will be ready to label everything, including me if I stand still for too long. I'll probably be under miscellaneous !The DGC were great company yesterday and DGS brought me 2 new pairs of school trousers to alter ( age12 to 13 ) as he doesn't want them trailing in the ground, especially in the wet. They will probably only last him til Xmas and I can't believe how much he's grown this year as he's already a couple of inches taller than me ( he'll be 11 next Tues ) I believe he's going to be 6ft plus and his sister is also going to be very tall ( probably following their Dad at about 6'5 ) so they will be a great help in the future for getting things down off shelves without the aid of a safety netTake care all, stay safe and wellnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Morning all, second try at posting, deleted the first one by mistake. Had a very non sleep night, up and down the stairs like a yoyo and eventually dropped off at six, no idea why...On the plus side, while my hands are worse, my knees appear to be slightly better in that I managed to come down each tread separately on the stairs this morning instead of one at a time which was nice.Rain is going to stop outside play today, although it's going to be a busy one [ well, busy for me
] A visit to OHs mum who's made a cake, a visit for OH to a friends garden/garage depending on weather, bidding for two items on ebay to facilitate tree branch removal and someone coming at 6 to fetch something I'm selling on FB [who hasn't quibbled about price which is nice]
More research being done as to how to sink posts for the pergola thing, which I'm told is considered a pavillion is it's covered - oooo, get me! - and more modifications have been thought of in terms of doors and how they open, so now it's evolved by having two table/waist height doors on lift-off hinges so they can be removed in the summer coupled with a flap that comes down or can be held up if more shade or rain protection or room is needed. It's not going to be pretty but I will definitely post a picture when it's done.meanmarie, I've sent you a pm regarding the italian stuff... Nelski, that sounds absolutely delicious. Now I have to buy fish. Nanny, I ceremoniously smack you with the sleep stick and anyone else who needs a smacking. Scarlet, I started working or volunteering rather in charity shops in the eighties. They had the most beautiful second hand WW2 era type suits in one of them but no idea where from because they were made of shot silk. I think I still have a jacket somewhere but it sadly, does not and has not fitted for years...Gers, glad your tooth is sorted and that was nice of you. Bet they appreciated being appreciated. TA, sounds lovely. I used to love a good carvery. Bella, that's just terrible, you need to have words with your trolley! Right, up and at them, stay sfae out there on tumultuous Thursday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9
