Non transferable warranty

Hi.
I bought a JTX Fitness Rowing machine on gumtree that is still under warranty. After one month I have problem with computer and a cracking seat track . I wrote an email to the producer and got a reply:
"I'm afraid none of our machines are offered with a transferable warranty, we can supply parts for second hand machines and offer support but any engineer visits or parts would be at cost."
There is nothing about non transferable warranty on their website.
" Our warranties are registered automatically when you buy, there is no admin required or warranty registration forms to fill in. Your warranty is active from the moment you receive your machine and there are no hidden terms or conditions. You can be sure you are completely covered by our comprehensive home-use warranty."
What can I do in this situation. The previous owner bought it from producer on amazon and gave me order number and date of purchase.

The terms you quoted suggest to me that the warranty can only be used to the benefit of the original purchaser.  eg:  "...registered automatically when you buy..."  That's clearly referring to the original purchaser, not subsequent ones.  Is there nothing suggesting the warranty can be transferred?  Remember, the terms of a warranty are decided by the manufacturer, not consumer rights legislation.

(Can the original purchaser still claim?)

Yes he can still claim i am still in contact with him but will JTX accept the warranty knowing he has sold the machine?

Who knows really as the handler may not remember or the system may remember .

Warranty could be accepted or rejected .

Facts are you have no warranty neither do you have consumer rights against JTX  only the guy who sold it to you .

If they know he's sold the machine then no they won't as the warranty ended when he sold the item... this is one of the reasons why "nearly new" is so much cheaper than "brand new"... you make a saving and take a punt

Only one way to find out, but since you've already contacted them to ask, they know you are not the original owner.  If the warranty was an important part of your consideration you should have established whether or not it could be transferred before you bought the machine, or taken out your own insurance or maintenance contract on it.

Thank you for your answers I give up and I will not bother the first owner and I have a lesson for the future
