If you were paying by Direct Debit it can’t be taken early, except maybe in February when there aren’t enough days of the month to cover a specified date.
If you have a DD setup for the 30th of the month, then I would expect the DD to be taken on the 28th February instead. Although I have seen some instances where it will take it on the next available working day, e.g. the 1st March but it will count as February's payment still, and March's payment will still be taken on 31st March.
However in the case of a salary/BACS payment, these are paid early, so if you're usually paid on the 30th of the month, for example, then you would get paid on the 28th February, so there's no excuse for salary not being made available in time.0 -

"If the payment due date falls at a weekend or on a Bank Holiday the organisation is obliged to debit your account just after the due date, not before, unless they notify you in advance of a change of date."
A non processing date and a date that doesn't exist are pretty much equivalent IMO. I doubt many companies are dumb enough to let you set the date to the 30th.
