Builder quotes for work and time taken and then does it in half the time

So having work done at my property and the builder and his team are working on a fixed plan of agreed work with timescales but it seems that he quotes his work per job and says it will take x time and cost y and then goes and does in half the time at cost y. So is he just rushing to complete the work or just quoting the wrong timescales to give impression the work is more than it looks. He charges a day rate but comes in at 10 and leaves by 1 or 3 but never past 3.30 and he considers that a full day.

If you agreed a price with him then that's the price, if he gets it done quicker than expected that's good for him. If he quoted 1 day and it took him 2 would you double his labour rate for the job? I bet you wouldn't so why should he reduce his rate?1

Also if he rushes to complete the job. It's only the builder who has been like this - the other tradesman are fine - efficient, polite on time.0

Sounds a good result.
Same price but delivered in half the time.0 -
I think it's fair to ask the question why it's not matched the quoted time. Is the job changed for example then that should be taken into account in final price, in the same way, that if added complications arise then they potentially would too.0

While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
