Why does the fact he's going to prison mean you're any more or less likely to have creditors visiting?

Plenty of people outside prison owe money, to creditors of varying degrees of persuasiveness and legality...

I bought my house in a des res area off an 80 year old widow. No forwarding address left which I thought a little odd for someone in that age group, 2 weeks after I moved in the bailiffs showed up.
  • If he's only soon to be in prison his name may not yet be in the public domain. If he's not on remand then it may not be quite as serious as your mind jumped too.
Equally one local sex pest kept his name out the papers due to having a young family (we presume) and didn't go to prison until sentenced, but he did serve 18 months in the end.

If it was anything that bad like a horrific murder or serial killer, you'd know about it!

So what if the bailiffs turn up? House will be yours.

Is there a nearby pub or corner shop you could ask in?

Next door neighbour you could chat to and see if any gossip/news slips out?
