Enhanced package question

So I have worked for my current employer for 25 years, I am part way through my consultation period and have had 2 meetings, I have been offered statutory redundancy or I am able to apply for a lower grade role with a 25% pay cut and changes to working hours ect. I have opted to take the redundancy. Today I have heard through the grapevine that colleagues who work for the same company but in a head office role have received enhanced redundancy packages, I have heard this from 2 separate sources, naturally I am aggrieved as I have only been offered statutory, I have always been a good employee, worked my way up the ladder, no disaplinary record or anything on file. I have written to my line manager today to ask if this is true and also if I can be considered for an enhanced payment. I suspect that this would be offered on a case by case basis but does anyone know if I have any rights in this situation or is it just a case of tough luck??
many thanks

interesting question. employers do not have to give enhanced redundancy payments. they only do so if they feel like it, or they do so to protect themselves in some way. like they are making you redundant and there may be a chance you could take them to court for constructive dismissal.
even with enhanced redundacy packages, they don't have to offer people the same terms, even if they all work in the same role as far as i am aware.0 -
What others receive has no effect on what you recieve. If they are following the correct procedures then statutory is it I'm afraid.
With regards to others packages, remember that you don't know all the facts. It could be enhanced because its voluntary or there might be contractual obligations involved.
