If you have a refusal when you write the letter for the MR request then you really need to be more specific than this, otherwise it's not going to help your claim.

On a good day it might be half a mile, but how often is that?
How far can you reasonably walk on a bad day, and how often are those bad days?
What about the average, in-between days and how often are those?
Does it fluctuate with the seasons?
All these things are important for them to be able to make the right decision, and for you to know what the right decision is in your own circumstances. (Don't feel you need to answer those questions here! But just to get you thinking and come to the right conclusions for yourself.)
The mobility descriptors I copied out earlier so once you've really thought about it, you can probably tell which best applies to you having weighed up good/average/bad days.
While you can't do anything official until you have the decision, if it's going to be based on the report then you can get ready now for the case you need to make for what you think you should be entitled to.1 -
Unfortunately the issues are : you can physically wash yourself unaided. You can physically prepare a meal for yourself . The issue you describe relating to your mental health issues don’t incur additional expense.
Mobility requires that person cannot walk further than the length of two buses unaided so I half a mile is in excess of that.

Also the walking is not as simple as you make out, but it appears OP probably can walk further than would gain any points reliably and repeatedly. (Being able to do something once on one day doesn't mean anything if a person can't do it again for another week or month or whatever.)

My daughter can physically do everything herself, she can walk perfectly and has no physical conditions at all. She claims Enhanced daily living and Enhanced mobility. She scored points for washing/bathing because she's unable to detect the correct temperature of the water so assistance is needed to make sure the water isn't too hold/cold.She's also unable to prepare a meal and cook for herself because she doesn't understand how to use a knife, a microwave or the hob and needs assistance from myself to be able to keep her safe and make sure her food is cook properly.

1. The activities of washing and preparing a meal can pose problems for people with mental health problems that are applicable to point scoring descriptors. The descriptors themselves are all that need to be consulted to confirm this. Physically being able to carry out these activities does not mean you will be considered able to perform them without help.
2. The incurring of additional expense is irrelevant to determining which descriptors apply. PIP itself is meant to help with the additional expense of disability in day to day life but the activities/descriptors themselves are not looking at reimbursement or financial matters (except the activity of managing budget decisions of course) .. they're looking at disability alone. Many people who get PIP incur no extra expenses due to disability.
3. As above... regarding Mobility 2 activity... and indeed all activities... whether someone is able to complete an activity comes down to a greater consideration than headline statement. If that was not the case then the most strikingly obvious consequence would be that anyone who turned up to an assessment could not get Mobility descriptor 1E by virtue of having undertaken a journey.
But above all I just wanted to make sure someone with mental health problems or without extra costs associated with their disability didn't scroll past and think they could not get PIP. I get PIP entirely due to mental health problems and my disabilities save me money because I barely ever go out among other reasons. I'm far from uncommon.

I dont understand. Can somone please explainStarting a new thread would have been better than posting on someone else's because it just causes confusion. With all the "a" boxes ticked it means you haven't scored anything at all so there's no recommendation for an award. Although it's not the final decision but they mostly go with the report. The writing underneath is the HCP's justification for recommended the box that they ticked.Once the decision is made, if you're not happy you'll have 1 month from that date to request the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) you should put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. Adding a couple of recent real world examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you.Have a read of this it will give you more understanding of the descriptors and what they mean.
