Good morning, I am seeking some advice regarding booking though a travel agent, back last year trip was cancelled in May 2020 due to COVID. My question is the travel agent responsible to pay back with ABTA or as they keep telling me it’s The airlines fault Malaysian airlines and they’re waiting to get payback for them in order to refund fully is this factually correct. Thank you for any information you can giving me, I am quite concerned we will not get our money back as each month being promised and nothing.

If this was a flight only booking, the contract is with the airline and I can confirm that Malaysian, Thai and a number of other Far Eastern carriers have been incredibly difficult to extract funds from. The agent should repay you as soon as they get the money back, you can call Malaysian's offices in London to check the see how long the wait may be and to make sure a request has been made for a refund but I suspect your agent is telling the truth1

I booked a package holiday to Spain in December last year. I was supposed to travel in May. The holiday was cancelled at the end of March by the travel agent, On the Beach. giving them credit, they refunded the accommodation part of the holiday in May, but I am still waiting for the refund on the flights, which were with Vueling. On the Beach insist that until they receive the money from Vueling, they will not be repaying me. Any advice?.1
