Morning everyone - still raining this morning but the wind has dropped
TA - pleased for you that you're getting out for a meal today - I think I might be going out for tea with DD and little one later.
Nothing else planned - I'll go down to see mam and dad at some point as I haven't seen them since Sunday. Other than that, just enjoying my time off before i go back to work next week. I am ready to go back now and get back to 'normal'.
Going to get my ironing done - hope everyone has a good day12 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here and set in for the day, better than yesterday when it poured with rain all day with a howling wind I had to shut the bedroom window which I rarely do as the wind was howling.
Nothing much exciting planned for today but we are off to the pub for an evening meal, we have not eaten out on the eat out scheme yet so thought we would before the offer ends, I think I will have a steak with chips onion rings ect as this is quite a good deal.
Bins have gone out this morning and I need to clean and tidy the kitchen, lounge, ,study and conservatory it wont take long as they are not too bad.I have a wash on the go as well which can go on the line today.
Topsy hope you manage a sleep xx
Bella hugs to you xx
Have good days all xx12 -
Morning all, there's something different about the sky because there's a yellow ball up there. Is it a meteor or an asteroid perhaps ? Noooo ! it's the sun
Seems ages since it's showed it's face hereabouts.
I'm up early today as Mr Fix It had a bad night and tried to sleep downstairs from 2.30am, worried me a bit as it's unusual for him. Now he's shattered and will probably have a grandad nap later. I have put a load in the wm and there is another waiting in the wings. The DGC are arriving about 9.45 to stay for a couple of hours while DD and SiL go toilet shopping..... Oh the joy of looking at toiletsI can understand why the DGC don't want to trail around the shop. Don't know how long they will be here but I can rustle up some sort of lunch if necessary. I'll have to take the locks off the cupboard and fridge first though as DGS has hollow, arms, body and legs and would eat everything given half a chance !!
Hope everyone has a good Wed. Enjoy those new haircuts.Gers good luck at the dentist.Scarlet hope the anti b's work.MeanMarie I'm still growing my locks, it will be the first time I will have long hair since my 20's.TA enjoy the carvery.Topsy sorry about the house, hopefully something suitable turns up soon.Take care, stay safe if you venture out and hugs to anyone in need.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Morning all,
Much pleasanter day today. Yesterday was rough. Winds 81mph at the Needles apparently. it was our bin day too. I picked my bin up 3 times before deciding to leave it lying on the pavement like everyone else's.
Topsy, listen to me. You won't believe this but I want you to tuck this thought away and keep it in the back of your mind until you can retrieve it and know it to be true. In a few years you will look back and realise how everything worked out for the best.
There. I told you, you wouldn't believe it. But you just see if it happens.
Today I have a load of fallers (apples, not callers as my tablet wanted me to put) to deal with. I think it may be apple and mint jelly. It is lovely with all sorts of meats.
Coffee first though.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Morning campers! Although no one would have wanted to be camping yesterday eh? Sunny so far which measn off to the back of the garden to riddle some stuff. I'll do my lesson first though. Friend was having a hard time at the farm yesterday which I couldn't help him with at all/ The electric fences shorted out and one of the calves escaped which prompted much concern from the mother, friend had to chase it back into the field and pretend the fence was still working but the mother still wanted to mob him for getting near her darling baby. He was having a panic thinking they would all escape and he'd have to chase them and the sheep back to their fields [on his own with a crook, imagine that! eeek!] and after much faffing trying to think of a way to get an old electric thing working again discovered that a gate had blown open down the other end of the farm and was causing the short... Panic over, breakfast consumed, nap taken...He was also teling me about the problems the farmer is having with some of his neighbours who go round and disable the electric fencing, berate him for not watering the cattle [ massive mains fed troughs everywhere for them] and generally try to make his life miserable by complaining constantly about the smell of fields being sprayed etc...These neighbours are influx townies who wanted to get away from it all to the country but the country is not co-operating with their imagination....Idiots.Anyway, I am doing the usual today, whilst replying to messages asking about the availability of stuff I'm selling...I love it when you put a price on something to sell, and then you get messages asking, can you deliver? No Karen...Will you take five pounds for it? No Karen, it's fifty. Will you save it for me because I can't pick up for two weeks? No Karen.... [Apologies to genuine Karens out there...] I swear the next time someone asks me to take a ridiculous price I'll tell them yes, if you sacrifice your first born to Cthulu.Scarlet, glad you got antis, hope they work quickly! DP1, hope you have better luck with the next one. Nanny, cwtches for you...and Mr fix it...Mind you, I expect nearly everyone had a bad night last night unless they're a reverse vampire...snoozer, I used to love a certain pastry from a certain shop and was always disappointed when they didn't have this particular one, I wouldn't have waited for second best either
Good luck at the dentist Gers. Enjoy the meal out TA..Lockdown seems a bit odd at the moment anyway, I haven't got a clue what I can and can't do and I'm not even in your part of the country
Bella, definitely mention it, they may be able to help. Hey all reading along, hope you're all sun dancing after yesterdays shennanigans, put your left leg in etc...Washed clean Wednesday!

taff, your friend should tell the townies to go back whence they came and get their country idyll fix by listening to the Archers. Much quieter, less muddy and not at all stinky.
We have the same with people who come here on holiday, love it, retire over here, and moan about the holiday makers.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Afternoon all, just finished putting all the shopping away. It was chucking it down when the chap arrived.Felt a bit sorry for him waiting outside while I transferred it all in.I had an email from Mr S saying they are going back to bagless deliveries from the end of Aug. so I presume they'll have to wait around even longer then.My tidying in the kitchen was noticed by the menfolk when they got back from work yesterday & still tidy now
I think we'll just have some fish and chips from the freezer tonight, nice and quick.
AOD, I do quite like the wood pigeons, they stand on the fence and stare at me until I put something out for them .I haven't seen anything go on the new birdtable yet though so perhaps they'll have to get used to it tooTime to get my kindle out I think and have a cuppa too. Hope you are all doing ok x

Afternoon all
Had a really busy day caught up on the washing because it has been dry albeit windy all day not at all like yesterday thank goodness.
Got a phone call from the hospital today giving me a new operation date which is on 17th of September so I am back into shielding but only for three days before the op, last time it was two weeks! Still have to go for a Covid test though.
I will be in a sling for a month or more so I am working out freezer meals...........again so I don't have to put up with DH's cooking..............
Topsy my love don't get too disheartened that happened to us and we got a much better house in the end, everything happens for a reason xxx
Well off to see if the washing is dry
