electric roller door and flex

I've recently had a electric garage roller door fitted by gorolla to replace a battered up and over door, I've noticed when pushing on the middle section on the closed position there is around 6 inches of flex is this normal?

Does the garage door not run down channels either side. Six inches seems like rather a lot.

I have a 13’ door and I get nowhere near this much flex.

    Can you post a pic?

    Regards

The door runs on channels either side, it's a single door.

mine does flex but not 6 inches.  Give them a call, I've found them to have an excellent customer service and came out within 24 hours of asking advice

Just having a closer look and pushing hard on the centre it's actually around 3 inches (was in the dark yesterday!)

When I push hard I can feel some resistance but if feels like it will snap,
I was under the assumption that they were aluminium and strong with no flexing, like any normal door.

Surely anyone can kick it to break

My roller door (not Gorilla) - about 1 1/2 widths -   has steel slats which lock almost rigid

It sounds like it might not be adjusted correctly and the motor is stopping too early.
The slats on the door are normally very loosely fitted together to enable them to form a roll when the door is raised but when lowered, the slats get pushed into each other and should be very rigid.
If the set up wasn't correct and not enough pressure was being applied by the motor before it cut off, this could result in a loose door.

Assuming that the door has a manual winding handle on the inside then there is a very easy way to test to see if this is the case.
Close the door using the motor and see how how much flex there is then if possible,  use the handle to wind the door down a little bit more to ensure that the slats are fully pushed into each other and check the flex again.

I've tried winding manually and there was only around 1/2 turn of play and made no noticeable difference.
    I'll call them tomorrow

Ours is a cheappo brand 9 feet wide and once the slats lock together there is pretty much zero flex.
    I think....
