I'd have to be in the vehicle or witness dashcam footage to wholly believe the brakes applied for no reason.

the brakes come on after the audible bleep , if no human response the brakes judder, if no human response then the brakes apply. Raised ironworks or certain crisp packets can activate the system, there is an override button on one of the stalks.
