Maternity Allowance

Hi all, I have two businesses, one as a sole trader and the second is a limited company which I am the director of. Am I able to claim maternity allowance as a sole trader as I will not be able to continue this work throughout maternity, but still pay myself through PAYE as a director as I will still need to be involved in the running of that company. If not, can I take dividends instead and still claim the MA? Appreciate any feedback or information anyone can provide as my online searches as very unclear!

Thanks for replying. I have read that but think it refers to if I did any work as a sole trader as that's what I would be claiming the MA through. 🤷🏻♀️0

during the period of the allowance you do any work as an employed or self-employed person.
