Moving House and Switching

I have just moved house and immediately switch, my old supplier wants to sign me up for a DD even though i will not be with the in a couple of weeks.

Should i just go ahead and set up the DD or try again with a different CSA and insist on making a one off payment to settle the balance once we  have moved?

Yes, set up the DD and make sure they have you on the cheapest tariff without an exit fee.
These days the cheapest tariff will require a DD so it is somewhat unavoidable.
I'm assuming you are talking about the existing supplier to your new house, not your previous supplier at your old house...
