BT used to have a webpage for organising which landline calls you wanted on a blacklist and the ability to place a note beside the number.  Can anyone still access this page, provide instructions to navigate to it from the point you log into BT.  Also can you test it, to see if it still works from a laptop (not smartphone).

Thanks

Have you dialled 1572 immediately after the call and followed the instructions? I was able to go to the blocked number page on My BT getting there via the options under the landline heading and see and add to or delete the numbers. I thin that only appears once call protect is set up for the first time. It does work on a laptop.

The problem with this is it will only block specific numbers as you encounter them plus their existing CC/nuisance  call identified list. A lot of cold callers use a spoofing caller ID which regularly changes which negates the call blocking of specific numbers..

I found the best way to get rid of cold callers was to buy the BT 8500 phone (other models/makers exist). We've had it 3-4 years now and we have had less than 3 calls a year from cold callers in that time. Callers are forced to leave a message before the phone rings AND you get the option to connect or discard the call before you speak to a caller, 99% of the time they don't bother and (I'm pretty sure) the message leaving system either confuses or calls from automatic dialling systems just pass over them.

Agree with BT 8500 etc  as of late spammers are spoofing a local number  .
Some of these spoofed local numbers are actual live local users numbers .

I was getting at least 10-15 cold calls per day a few years ago.

    I invested in a Truecall system https://www.truecall.co.uk/

Since then I've had 1 nuisance call which happened to be around a month ago so well worth the investment.

The BT Call Blocker products work in a similar fashion.
Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???
