Morning, I'm still drying off after the dogwalk, it's a nasty day, complete opposite of yesterday.I did a bit of pottering in the back and rearranging a few pots to go round the base of my new bird table that DH has bought for my birthday later in the week. The wood pigeons arent impressed, I think they'd struggle to get under the little roof so they can carry on with the bird bath table, they are getting very fussy, just mainly picking out the sunflower seeds.Hester good to see you, perhaps you'll get a good sleep in the apartment. Good luck with mentioning the bad hearing, Steve sounds just like my DH, even down to the you tube habit. Luckily most of the time he wears headphones.TA I thought I'd give my mobile hairdresser a chance to get over the 1st mad rush of appointments before I booked- that was a mistake d ue to the local lockdown coming just as I was going to ring. At least it's long enough to tie back, and I coloured it yesterday too
.
I need a really good tidy in the kitchen as no-one puts anything away after using, need to make a loaf too. DH & DS have started to take their dinner (lunch) to work. Where they are working atm is a house at the edge of one of the outlying villages and the shop is very expensive. They worked out that in a year they could spend the equivalent of buying a new work vehicle! The only problem with that is it means buying more food weekly so again there is the problem of fitting it in the kitchen. Anyway enough waffling, I wish you all a good day x

Morning all
Wet and windy here (the weather not me) and set in for the day I think, I had a bad night and did not sleep well at all so up late this morning, I have put a wash on and tidied the kitchen though.
Ive got some mince out to make a spag bol tonight I woke really fancying one so will make that after lunch and let it sit for a while I find this improves the flavour and I always put a load of halved olives in too which add a lovely bite to it.
Will have a quick clear round this morning and then get the dogs out for a run, if its still raining it will be a quick lap or two of the park with the ball thrower but if it stops we will take them for a long walk through the woods.
Was going to get in the garden for a few hours and start dead heading things and start to cut back for the winter, Im hoping September will be nice but you never know.
AOD Happy Anniversary to you both xx
Topsy how are things going with you ? xx
Have good days all xx

Morning all! A bit of wild weather happening outside at the moment. Yesterdays plans were achieved, the membrane went down [I got it off ebay when I was doing the front garden a couple of years ago and god knows what I ordered but there's still loads left on the roll, there may even be enough to do the thing at the back...that was indeed a good buy], three barrows of sand plonked on top and smoothed a bit. It will need at least another four. I levelled the area around the lego bed a bit more and started covering that with the cheapy membrane after I pulled off all the bits of horsetail root so now that's prepped for the stones that come from the riddling. Italian lesson done, I can now tell people how old I am, although why they would want to know I don't know, and tell someone if their socks are smelly. Always a good conversation starter.I'm taking a breakfast to my friend on the farm today so I'd better get a wriggle on and get that done, he can just stick it on the aga to warm through. Although this weather means no blackberry picking on the way back. Boo.Plans for the day are as above, water and feed the tomatoes, italian lesson, put something else up for sale [ they did fetch the thing I was selling yesterday, woop!] and make a start on putting all my tools and bits and bobs for DIY in one place and piling up the stuff I don't use.Happy Anniversary AOD! Hope the hammering has nothing to do with that!
Hope you get some result from your doc Scarlet. Rosy, tell them to build you a bigger kitchen
Spot on thought for the day monna.. Right, onwards and away....Hey all reading along, hope you're good, hope you're all coping with tricksy Tuesday...
Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Hi everyone, I'm another whose first haircut after lockdown was a disappointment. I was persuaded to keep it a bit longer but the next time I made her cu it short, it's too fine and thin thanks to my underactive thyroid to do anything else with. At least I don't have to faff with colour as I've not gone grey yet.
We had a lovely walk and lunch in a tearoom garden yesterday but there couldn't be a greater contrast in the weather today. Ziggy might have to whistle for her walk. Esben is down for a nap, he's not been as sunny this morning so maybe the rain has been affecting him as well. I need to think of something for dinner, I have no inspiration atm.

Hello all, well I think the rain has downgraded itself from monsoon to torrential ! The poor bin men were drowned as was the postman who brought me a leaflet for a retirement apartment in Bristol......... I wish, the prices start at half a million for a very basic model and I want the best, because I'm worth itDad came for lunch yesterday and went home happy with a haircut, a cake, sausage rolls and a freshly cooked loaf. So today I'm having a quiet day of doing nothing in particular. There are a lot of things misplaced in the office that need sorting and re-placing if I get bored. This morning our DGS has invited himself and his sister over for a few hours tomorrow as DD and SiL are going toilet shopping, they are having a new bathroom soon but I've forgotten exactly when. Haven't heard anything from DD so he might have taken things into his own hands again. Hopefully it will be dry by then as my washing basket is full so DGD can help me with that, not going to hold my breath with that idea though
Tea tonight will be something easy, or at least something that jumps into my hand from the freezer
Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe in the storm.AOD happy anniversary.Scarlet I hope you get some joy from your GP.ILC enjoy your pre-anniversary meal, especially at half price.Take care all, hugs all round today.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Hi everyone
Pouring with rain here too and very windy. I'm going nowhere - I've got this week's Sunday Times to read and a couple of forms to fill in.
Also got an online consultation with the private dentist I saw last week, but I think it's going to be too pricy for me. Just going to have to keep my fingers crossed that my NHS dentist opens soon....Gers I'm jealous of your appointment - though not that it lasts an hour and a half!
take care everyone8 -
Afternoon all,
Spent most of the morning on the phone to various people about my hip replacement surgery, but I have had a result with a new date for 8th September.....am almost afraid to believe it.
Very windy here this morning, then rain since.......storm Francis allegedly arriving tonight, although meant to be worst in South and Southwest.
-taff......your Italian is coming on space, are you doing it with one of the free online classes or are you paying for it (sorry for cheeky question it if you don't like) .I have a diploma in Italian from years ago, but haven't been able to top up my ability as I haven't been in Italy for a few years......maybe next year???
AOD.....happy anniversary!
Hair! I have not ventured to have my hair cut yet.........DD4 paid € 12 more than used to be normal for a wash, cut and blow-dry last week so i am feeling distinctly stingy
Stay safe everybody
