As an early adopter of ZOPA I first invested in 2006 and was invited to several of their 'Meet the founders & staff Parties' (due to that status rather than amount invested!) I find it interesting that ZOPA is now a bank.
Its original USP was that it cut out the middle man - ie the bank.1 -

ZOPA threw out most of its USPs along the way (like sandbags from a hot-air balloon).
Remember what ZOPA stood for? (Zone Of Possible Agreement) -- that was flushed long ago. It became "The theoretical expected estimated target rate you will take, which may or may not actually happen" -- which doesn't make a snappy company name.
