Annual Leave Furlough

I’ve been furloughed since 23rd March, my colleagues and I received an email at the start of April to advise we wouldn’t be accruing any annual leave during our furlough period. Am I correct in saying it doesn’t matter if we were furloughed or not I am still entitled to statutory entitlement (5.6 weeks) for a full time worker? My annual leave year started start of April

Annual leave entitlement continues to accrue as usual during a period of furlough. Potentially your employer could require you to take leave during the furlough period (subject to them giving sufficient notice), but they would then need to pay at 100% for that time.1
