Viewing a house with a seller vs an estate agent?

You know what time the other viewers are coming. Hire a van, buy some balaclavas. You know what to do next.boldaslove said:
Urg I hate this! We're also in the same position today. This is the 5th(!) house we've offered on and although the agent didn't tell us (we were told the vendors want to think about our offer overnight) we know there's a viewing today as we spotted it written down on the fridge when we viewed the housefiwen30 said:EA was back in touch. Sellers have heard our offer, but have chosen to ‘honour the 2 arranged viewings’ for tomorrow. The viewers will be advised of our asking price offer, and that any offers will need to be made quickly. I understand that the sellers probably think they’ll get better offers if the viewers know there’s an asking price offer in already. And they might likely get better offer(s) too!
I can kind of understand the sellers point of view but it's frustrating when you're offering the asking price isn't it?
I hope it goes well for you!1 -
We had our offer accepted!!
I’ve a feeling at least 1 of the 2 viewers today also offered, but the sellers chose us for our first time buyer status, given that they’ve been let down by broken chains twice already. Still, won’t sniff at it!
We’re meeting our mortgage broker tomorrow to finalise the details and formally apply, and see if he’s any recommendations for solicitors and conveyancers.
It hasn’t sunk in yet, but it’s very scary! Exciting and positive, but scary!

Aww that’s amazing, congratulations! No, believe it or not we still haven’t got a response 2 weeks later - I chased the EA loads at the start of this and have just decided to leave the offer on the table and look elsewhere. It’s still being advertised. We offered the asking price - what else do they want? The moon on a stick?fiwen30 said:We had our offer accepted!!

We've done all 10 of our 1st viewings to the same pattern. Basically just led viewers upstairs & pointed out each room, then back downstairs and outside - where there's lots to see! Then offered that they can wander around on their own. We're very open and have answered all questions with complete honesty. I did draw the line when son of family who run a local business, asked what our 2 adult sons did for a living. I just put it down to cultural differences.
Seems to have worked well and we've accepted a lower 'best & final' offer from a family who seem to love it as much as we do. Its much better suited to them & their 2 teenagers, than to us after 20 years here.
Fingers crossed for everyone in this crazy housing market.2
