Buying a New Front Door

Hi,
I hope this is the right forum for this question. We are hoping to replace our wooden front door with either wood which we'll paint, or a composite (or PVCu for that matter). It's a standard size (whatever that is) and we may need the ironmongery too.
Has anybody done anything similar? Where would be the best place to look i.e. most economical with good customer service? We are based in the S.E. specifically Essex
Thanks

I’m going through the process at the moment. Not in SE, I’m in Cornwall. Getting quotes from local small window and door businesses for a half glazed white uPVC front door, fitted, with locks and letterbox, old door and frame disposal including VAT is coming in between £868 and £1122. Supply time is apparently 6-9 weeks which is frustrating because my lock is jammed.Arch0

I live in Essex, SS4. I had my front door and 2 small windows replaced last year, it cost me £1400 for a composite door. Door alone was about £1100 I think. I highly recommend the fitter that did mine, link to his website below:

Looks like we share an ineffective MP though. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0
