Closing /Opening Meter Readings

I moved to Avro in June and they began taking monthly direct debit payments (beginning10 days before they took over the supply.) However, they have told me they are still waiting for the confirmation of the opening meter readings, so while I am supplying monthly meter readings to them they are not proving me with any statements.
They say they can do nothing until the readings are confirmed by the "3rd party"
I made a formal complaint but they keep repeating that there is nothing they can do. Its now 10 weeks since they took over my account surely this is an unreasonable time to wait for the readings .How can I get the issue resolved?

Welcome to the forum.Although you provide the new supplier(Avro) with meter reading(s), these readings have to be agreed with your old supplier who will use them as the final readings with which to finalize your account.Sometimes there is a dispute when the old supplier will challenge those readings. In that case it does go to a third party for adjudication. Normally that wouldn't take 10 weeks, but Covid 19 seems to be the reason why it takes forever to contact Bank, Utility Company, Sky, Bt etc etc.Presumably you haven't had the final bill from your old supplier??0

No I've not had a final bill from the old supplier."we are awaiting the meter reading from your new supplier so we know what to final bill for your Electricity; we are yet to receive this even though we have prompted AVRO for a response" .
This is where it gets even more complicated. Due to an error only the Gas account was transferred initially until I raised with both companies (old and new) that I was paying them both for Electricity over the same period.

Octopus said they've already reconfirmed the reading to Avro (they sent me a copy of their confirmation) and they refunded all the credit balance in my account, but it worth a try. I just want to have a resolution.
