Strange Ovo refund

Did you ever get a final bill from them when you left?

I got a £17 refund out of the blue as well, but I did get a notification email as well, this is the text from the mail...
”We're getting in touch because we accidentally overcharged you in the past for your energy. We're really sorry about this.
We charged you too much for a short time, while you went through the process of switching suppliers. This was down to an error with our systems, which shouldn't have happened.
We've fixed things now, and we'll be giving you a refund
You're owed £17.44 from us, which is how much we overcharged you”
Regards

Probably charged "standard variable rate" in the last 49 days rather than keeping the previous fixed rate as per OFGEM rules0
-
... or more likely, the switch started within the 49 days but did not complete within that period as the old supplier is obliged not to change the rate even if the fixed period ends during the switch process.

Ah. Thank you tetrarch. I didn't get that email. Maybe it went to an old email address. I don't remember thinking I'd been overcharged but then with it just being a couple of quid I may have ignored it.
Oddly Angelica Energy who I left a year ago seem to be doing odd things now, rewriting my final bill and adding sums to it then deducting them again. Maybe they are all having a tidy up!0
