Hi, booked an hotel through Alpha rooms for 7 people in January for a stay in September this year 2020 in Majorca.. It was booked as non refundable at the time if you wanted to cancel. Now the hotel is closed due to covid until next year and Alpha rooms are refusing to refund money as they are saying it is non refundable, can I claim through my credit card?

Alpha Rooms are fobbing you off. Non-refundable means if you cancel. If they cancel, you are entitled to a refund, as they cannot supply the service. If they won't refund, do a chargeback.
Did you book for all 7 on the one transaction? No free lunch, and no free laptop1 -
If this was a booking for room only the hotel should be refunding Alpharooms, who should then refund you.
