Morning all, it's dry at present but we are promised thunderstorms for later. No respite from rain until Wed at the earliest. You would think after my baking binge I would sleep like a log, er no not a bit of it because I tossed and turned all night and I feel very stressed today for some unknown reason, it's a shame because I've being keeping it under control for a while. Hopefully I can sleep tonight perhaps.Half the sausage rolls have made it into the freezer and the cheese scones were a thumbs up, but I didn't try to make the apple ones, I thought I'd stop on a high and not push my luck
Yesterday I invited Dad for lunch and tea but he wasn't sure and ummed and ahhed. He said "I wanted to do something in the garden" then "It's going to rain" so he's going to ring about 11am to confirm, or not. Anyway the invite is there and it doesn't matter either way as we are going to have the BBQ pork steaks, chips and peas anyway, so I can just set another place. Other than cooking I have no other plans for today.
I also had a conversation with DD yesterday and she has ordered an new gadget for crafting, a Cricut machine. Watching the online video made me feel old as the technology seems over my head and looks very complicated, but I'm sure she can wrangle it into submission so she will bring it up towards the end of the week for a few practice runs and a play.Hope everyone can have a bit of peace and a good day today.Take care all, hugs to anyone who is in need, the hug bucket has been refilled overnight, please help yourselves.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -

Nanny, sounds more impressive than it actually is honest. There was a time when making the damn patio would have taken me three days not three weeks...And sitting on the sofa chanting Italian is no hardship
I read your posts about wrestling your garden into submission, cooking, baking, making and I think you also are a do-er...:)

Good morning, only just.As the weather today is beautiful, and the forecast for tomorrow is horrendous, I decided to head out into the sunshine after feeding DM. I drove to one of the poshest areas to slaver at the huge townhouses and architecture. Then I parked up and had a lovely walk round the streets. At one point there is a set of very steep steps which rises up from the bottom of the valley, no handrails so I didn't go down them. There was a group of fit young men jumping up the steps one at a time (steps not men), made me faint just watching them. 😩That's been my day so far, nothing else much on the horizon today.Because I don't eat fish at all I've been taking fish oil capsules (falling for the hype just in case it's true). The only trouble is that they are huge so I can't possibly swallow them so have been taking my daily dose with a hot drink. I hold the capsule in my mouth for a little while until it softens and slightly collapses before swallowing it with more of the hot drink. Sometimes, like today, I time it badly and the oil escapes and I taste the oil... yeugh!I hope that everyone has a good day, or at least not a bad one. Happy Monday to all.14

Hi everyone
I'm feeling a bit fed up as I should have been flying to Sweden to visit eldest DD for a week today. Hopefully I'll get to see her at October half-term - it seems a long time since she was home for Christmas.
Well I've been for coffee with DD and little one this morning and we may go for shopping later after she's been to nursery.
Its a dull drizzly day here today - I had hoped to get some jobs done in the garden, but it will be too wet. It's forecast to be rainy all week. Never mind, I have my Sunday Times to read so that will fill my afternoon, then little one is coming to stay tonight.
Well I'm going to move....hope everyone has a good day
