DIY wardrobe

We have an unusable space above the stairs bulkhead which is quite steep. I have boxed it off with a simple bit of studwork and mdf.
I'm not going to build a wardrobe on top, any advice on the best way to do this? Was thinking about building the carcass from 18mm mdf (would actually only be one piece up the side as the back and other side would be the wall) then 2 x 500mm wide 12mm mdf doors. The doors would be about 1200mm tall.
My worry is that mdf is poor to screw into and not sure it would securely hold the hinges for the doors?
Thanks

Multiple concealed hinges as used on kitchen units will work fine. Just be very very careful when drilling the recesses in the doors as 12mm doesn't give you much room - The holes need to be around 10mm deep & 35mm diameter.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.2 -
Thanks, I'm actually thinking about making it look like a Panal door by glueing 2-3 inch strips onto three main mdf which would give double the thickness0

Use single thread screws they will give you a good solid fix.
I built my daughter's wardrobe entirely out of 18mm MDF , I measured every single piece of MDF I would need to the mm transferred this onto 8 by 4 sheets of MDF so I got the best value and got my local b and q to cut it all
Then I assembled the pieces like a jigsaw , sxrewing together , fitting kitchen hinges, a rail and handles to finish it off
It took me longer to paint it , then it did to assemble it2 -
what do you think about wardrobe from Ikea?0

Agree with using 18mm MDF I have done a few wardrobes using this, used wooden battens to support the shelves and hanging rails. One I used sliding doors on and another I asked a woodworking company to run the doors through a spindle moulder to give a nice rounded edge.
OurB&Q do not cut but TP do and I went with my cutting plan and got all the sheets cut free. I made one shelf too long and left that till last to fit just in case it needed some adjustment. No I am not a chippy just DIYer but found this an easy job.0
